The Lost Adventure

Yesterday evening Becky had an idea: let's take Sarah to Chuck E. Cheese! Not having any predetermined plans, and being in a good mood, I said sure, and while we're at it, let's bring her bestest friend in the whole widest world: Jennifer! And you know what? We did! So off we go to seek out Chuck E. Cheese, located in Conroe, TX. All is well, driving north on I-45, seeking the landmarks I verbally and mentally noted on Google Maps. We kept going, and going... and going. We eventually got to a point where I determined that we had gone too far. I took the next exit to circle around. Before going south on I-45, Becky read aloud: "Now leaving the city limits of Conroe." Joygasm, we went way too far.

So we headed south, then back north, then back south again. I called 411 (third time in my life, I'm so ashamed) to get directions to this place. Determined not to waste any more time, I decided to pull into an area of businesses behind a thick line of trees; this is how the Woodlands primarily looks, so naturally we thought we were in the Woodlands and had to head north again. The voice system begins telling me where Chuck E. Cheese is located; ironically it says, "...located in the Woodlands, otherwise known as Conroe." What?! That's just silly! As I'm hearing this, we accidentally find Chuck E. Cheese. It turns out we had passed it on the service, er, feeder road once before heading north for the second time.

We spent $12.50 and received 80 tokens using a coupon (a $20 value, awesome) and had lots of fun. We talked with some friends from church and then after having spent our coins and turned in our 201 tickets, we made our way home. As we approached the feeder road, I noticed a sign: "Now leaving the city limits of Conroe." Huh? From what I gathered, the West side of I-45 at that geographical location was Conroe, but it looked just like the Woodlands. You got to be kidding me.

Surprisingly, I did not start to get the slightest bit frustrated during this lost adventure. Becky can attest that when I'm driving and cannot find what I'm looking for, I get frustrated (I like to know where I'm going because of my keen sense of direction), but this time around I had a merry attitude. I guess that's a sign that I'm maturing in my old, er, young age, yay!
